Sydney Car Loans Blog: 2015 BMW 220i and 228i Review

BMW has introduced the 2 series convertible and what’s exciting us at our Sydney Car Loans office, is that it is an entry level luxury convertible!

Starting at $54,900, it has the following features:

Leather upholstery

Reversing camera

Dual-zone climate control

Rear parking sensors

Cruise control

Rain-sensing wipers

Dusk-sensing headlamps

Leather-upholstered steering wheel

Navigation System Business (6.5 inch display)

Bluetooth audio/phone integration

USB audio input

Minimum of 280L and maximum of 335L storage space (slightly less than the 2 Series coupe)

Rear seat pass-through

With a push of the button, the room folds automatically and takes 20 seconds to stow. It looks great whether the roof is up or down!  It comes with Sensatec ‘leather’ as the standard upholstery. However with the 220i, if you opt for the Luxury line, you’ll be paying $1300 for real hide with higher-grade wood trim and chrome lashings. You can also pay for options such as power seats and bi-xenon headlamps.

Performance of the BMW 220i and 228i on the Road

BMW 220i: 135kW/270Nm 2.0 litre turbo petrol inline four

BMW 228i: 180kW/350Nm 2.0 litre turbo petrol inline four

The 220i weighs 165kg more than the coupe while the 228i weighs 150kg more. The 220i comes with standard 17-inch allows while the 228i comes with 18-inch alloys.
